This film was a home run! What a wonderful tribute to the great Jackie Robinson! Harrison Ford was incredible! One of the best movies I have seen in a very long time! Touched my heart and stirred my soul! Whole family will enjoy, even if you are not a baseball film. Must see!

I didn't have any great expectations prior to seeing the movie, but I would definitely recommend this movie. Considering that we are in a society where athletes are placed on a pedestal, it was great to see that this was simply for the love of the game!!!

42 was an insightful look at what it means to be black

The actors all did a superb job in this movie. It shows the deap hatred and prejudice that was prevailant amongst most white people in this country with seemingly deeper resentment in the south. It shows the courage that Jackie Robinson had to have to be the first "man of color" playing in Major League Baseball... but not just baseball he was the first black man to play in any major league sport. It's too bad he isn't spoken of more often because, he like many other unknown heroes of that day endured just as much hatred and biggotry as MLK Jr. or Rosa Parks. This movie was very well written and is suitable for anyone who wants to see but a small piece of what is was like to be a black person after slavery was abolished. A sad reminder that we did, and in some cases still do, have a long way to go. 42 has to be the best movie I have seen in ages. Congratulations to Brian Helgeland for an excellent documentary.

This movie chronicles a truly critical time in the civil rights era. In a way, it was the first breakthrough for African-Americans in a part of society that was ultra racist. All children, probably 8 and over should see this movie.

Excellent film! I cried through the entire movie. Learning about what Jackie Robinson did not just for Baseball but for this country should be required history for every elementary school child in the United States. God Bless Jackie and Rachel, who by the way is 92 years young!
