I loved this film. The acting was superb. I cried during this movie and became angry, too. This movie is for all ages. Jackie Robinson was a great leader......and a great player of America's favorite pastime.

42 was a very good, well acted film. Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford I thought were both excellent, more so Boseman because he's an unknown and I would expect a great performance from Ford. The only complaint I have about the movie is it's a little slow moving. I took my 11 yr old daughter because she was dying to see it and she really enjoyed it, and think it was good for her to see how terrible racism was and how amazing a person Jackie Robinson was to overcome it.

I always enjoy feel good movies but especially so when it's based on a true story. I absolutely loved this movie. There were laughs and tension. I would recommend this to anyone over the age of 10.

Definite must see!

When I saw the trailers for this movie, I knew I wanted to see it; not because I'm a baseball fan but because I thought it would be an intriguing depiction of a polarizing figure in American history. I was not disappointed! The movie had the perfect balance of humor and drama...I shed several tears during a pivotal scene and laughed out loud often. Harrison Ford was on point as Dodgers owner Branch Rickey and newcomers Chadwick Boseman and Nicole Beharie as Jackie & Rachel Robinson were believable in their portrayals. It was also great to see Max Gail onscreen in his supporting role as Dodgers manager (we share the same hometown - hello Detroit!). Strong supporting cast of familiar and unfamiliar actors who brought their talents to this project. All in all, I'd rate the film 8 out of 10. PG-13 rating is appropriate; a few ugly words might be a bit much for children under 13. Highly recommend seeing this film.
