A-/B+

As a huge baseball fan, who has read several Jackie Robinson biographies over the course of my life, I rate it as an A-. Purely as a movie, I rate it a B+. It is well done, but not special or epic. An important chunk of history well handled, but not something that will stick with me--but then again, I have known his story since I was a 9-10 year old kid reading bios of Dodgers, Giants, and Yankees from the 30's, 40's, and 50's. . . . . Now if the Mariners did not suck for once, that would be epic. Jim M. (51 years old) Portland, OR

I enjoyed every minute of 42. I am a baseball fan and am well versed in the Jackie Robinson story so I'm a little surprised at how this movie stayed sharp all the way through. I usually squirm at 2 Hour+ movies but I was engrossed and the movie ended before I looked at my watch. Great great execution of this great story.

Great movie about a real American hero who rose to great levels in the face of tremendous adversity. Harrison Ford gives an Oscar worthy performance as Branch Rickey.

My husband is a complete baseball fanatic. He collects memorabilla and knows more baseball trivia than anyone I know. So I knew when we saw the previews that we would be going to see 42. We loved it! It was so well done. The statistics and trivia even held my attention. And I was tired and did NOT fall asleep!!!! Go see it!!!!

It has been months since I have watched a movie and left the theater feeling my money was well spent. This was well worth paying to go see on the big screen. Harrison Ford and Chadwick Boseman did an amazing job playing the characters in the movie. I would go see this movie one more time in the big screen and most likely get the DVD when it comes out.
