Excellent portrayal of the introduction of Jackie Robinson into the world of professional baseball. It was quite illuminating as to what he had to endure in his first year with the Montreal farm team and then with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Two great heroes here: Jackie and Branch Rickey. Fantastic acting. Wouldn't mind seeing it again. Great film for everyone to see and be enlightened about the consequences of racial prejudice.

In these days when it seems as though no one can get along...we need a movie like "42". Jackie Robinson was truly a gentleman and a hero, unlike any we see today. I laughed and cried!

The movie was just okay. I was disappointed in the casting of Harrison Ford in this role, I felt he did not embody the character, he was not believable. Not enough character development. The ending left the movie flat. A wonderfully impactful story that came up short.

The movie starts slow, but quickly picks up and keeps the pace

This movie is based on true events in the life of Jackie Robinson and the storytelling is great. The movie keeps you engaged, entertained and touches upon the civil rights issues brewing at the time. Unlike other movies (ie the Butler), it doesn't get lost in the details of the civil rights movement and doesn't become a long drawn history lesson, it stays on point, namely #42. I recommend this movie for the whole family.
