Shoulda go see anda see ita

A wonderful movie for little kids! I took my 3 and 5 year olds and they seemed to enjoy it. At least, I?m pretty sure they did. Neither one of them said too much afterward. In fact neither of them has spoken at all. I guess it?s just a really thought provoking film. Although, yesterday my five-year-old grabbed a knife from the kitchen and tried to hack off the leg of the neighbor cat. I laughed and said ?now don?t act out everything you see in the movies!? The cat was all bloody, but it was pretty funny. Kids are hilarious sometimes.

Total Guys Flick Even the Gals Would Like

I was a little concerned when I saw the previews for 300, thinking it might border on the cheezy side of things. However, having been a fan of Sin City by Director Zack Snyder, I held out hope the movie would not take a true story and turn it into something of a farce. Gladly it did not, despite a few liberties being taken. The movie stays true to the graphic novel premise and yet follows the true story of Thermopylae fairly close throughout. Take it as a Greek story on steroids. Every male I know who has seen the movie, loves it. There is one fighting scene after another and good effort was made to make each one unique in its own essence. The ladies biggest complaint was the fact it had too many fight scenes, but overall the movie was quite good. From their perspective, I can agree, from a males view it was nice to have a good war pick without too much sappy romantic side streets to ruin a perfectly good flick. The acting was good, the story better and the movie great!

Best film of 2007 thus far!

"A new age has come, an age of freedom. And all will know that 300 Spartans gave their last breath to defend it."

This is easily the best film of 2007 thus far, and quite possibly the best in the last twelve months. Even for those who dislike violence, this is a heroic and outstanding movie which must be seen. The lighting and colors give this historic tale a dark aura, which brilliantly coincides with the story.

300 is ferocious, amazing, and influential - after leaving the theatre I had the urge to give a hand to my movie-going friends with moving cars out of the wild snow, just like the Spartans helped each other on the battle field. Do you think you're fearless? You haven't seen fearless until you've seen 300.

    Best movie ever!!!

I love going to movies but this beats them all. It is now my favorite movie of all time. I have seen this movie four times and I am going to see it again while it is still in theaters. I love how much passion the Spartans have and how much love and respect they have for their people. The acting was great and I could feel a connection with them all. The movie is short, sweet and to the point. The fight sceens were the best. All around amazing. See it in theaters while you still can. You will not regret it.

    Awsome

I dont know if my review will be according to how the movie really is. I went to the IMAX theater to watch it. If anyone gets a chance to watch it in IMAX i totally suggest you go. I loved every second of this movie. The actors are not familiar so it felt fresh. Also the visual of the movie was great. The whole perspective of the movie is great. Really good movie. Go see it!

    It's a little late, but...

This movie was the best I have seen all year. I saw this movie at midnight the night before it came out and I had a blast. Like always I went in with low expection and I just could not have been happier that this movie exeeded my expectations. The graphics were awesome and the over all look of the movie was unique and amazing. Gerard Butler was just brilliant and I really felt like I got my monies worth all 5 times that I saw it. Now if only I could find a spartan of my own.

    Was This Neo-Con Propoganda?

I saw "300" over the weekend and while I enjoyed the beautiful cinematography, I thought the story line was so dumbed down and simplistic. In fact, I thought that I was listening to George Bush or one of his cronies as the Spartan queen spouted on with lines like "freedom is not free" and "we are at war and your king needs more soldiers."

I also thought that the characters themselves were caricatures, lacking any depth or humanity -- even if they come from a more "tribal" time in our history.

I've seen the other reviews trying to compare this movie to epics such as Braveheart and Gladiator and despite, 300's superior cinematography, it doesn't even come close to the entertainment value of the former.

    300 is awesome

I just have to say that 300 is the most crucial movie that I have ever seen. The movie is so well-done and captivating that it literally brings you back to the time to the world of the Spartans, who are a magnificiently stunning culture. This movie will make you want to be Spartan. If you are not familiar with Greek HIstory or don't really know about these ancient elite warriors you will awestruck at their intense lives. The movie covers their culture and follows their most famous and bad*** king, Leonidas, from his boyhood in the Spartan warrior society to the battle at Thermopolaye where he and just 300 Spartans made a stand against a million Persians. The valor and insanity of our ancestors and the ancient world is stunning. Also this movie is based on an awesome bestselling book written by Steven Pressfield called "Gates of Fire." This book I highly recommend.

    Blood and Spartans.

    by Jaenne

I went into this movie not having read Frank Miller's graphic novel. I am told, it's mostly truthful to the graphic novel but, the first thing I'm going to say about this movie is that you don't have to have read the graphic novel to enjoy it. The action sequences are amazing. All of the Spartans make you believe that this is what they were raised to do. Gerard Butler does a wonderful Leonid. He captures his audience as a great king should. I really felt for those 300 as they went into battle. There are historical inaccuracies but it is a movie. Movies are very rarely completely accurate and if they are, they tend to be boring. The scenes felt like they were right out of the graphic novel. The parts of the movie that I felt were slow were the parts with the Queen after Leonid left. Honestly, I would go see this movie again and I have plans to see it in IMAX next weekend. If you haven't seen this movie, go see it. The 300 will be all that people are talking about for weeks to come.
