Over-the-Top CGI without a Story Line to Support

I had fun, but I could have waited until Blu-Ray release.

The storyline was not compelling and it did not fully engage my suspension of disbelief.

However, if you are one of those apocalyptic followers needing something to stimulate your imagination of how the world will end, maybe this would be good for you. This movie has created quite a stir with this type of people who can't distinguish between reality and Hollywood.

    John Cusack Saves the World

    by spamtrap

There are some very good destruction scenes in 2012... especially the private jet flying in between the crumbling Wynn and Encore towers on the Las Vegas strip... but the rest of the movie is an absolute waste of time.

The dialog is dumbed down (as is typical for big budget Hollywood films), so that 10 year old kids can understand what's being discussed. You'll find no intellectual stimulation in 2012.

The acting is bad... terrifying events that would traumatize most people have almost no effect on the characters.

The action scenes are milked to a ridiculous level. Cusack and his group (what's the point of the two kids tagging along throughout the entire film?) just barely escape every predicament at the last possible fraction of a second.

Just as you're expecting the film to end, another "imminent danger" situation is thrown in for no apparent reason. It's stretched out like the other action scenes, except this one looks like it was taken from the Poseidon Adventure.

It was great but my bladder said it was too long

The special effects were outstanding. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat much of the time. But...the ending just went on and on and on. By this time, I'm hearing my bladder get louder and louder and louder--it was tough to sit this one out but I didn't miss a frame.
