This movie was more disturbing than Roots. I think it is the sound system, acting and
visual effects that we have today that made it so real. I cried throughout the movie and still have a sad feeling inside my heart.. All of the characters played amazing parts and as in real life, Brad Pitts lived up to his real life character.

A very heart wrenching account of slavery before the Civil War. The acting is tremendous. What was so obvious to me was the fact that man could be so cruel to other human beings. Slavery was horrific and I am glad we have moved past it but we now need to behave as human brothers instead of separate races. This film brings that home.

A lot of people say they wont see this movie because its about race. I wish people would not thing of it that way but more about how great this movie is and it shows the life of a free man who went through so much hardship for 12 years. I went to see this movie and I loved it, the performance by all the actors was phenomenal, especially Lupita Nyong'o. I so recommend everyone to see this movie. you will not regret it.

It was like a book you could not stop reading. People forget what a group of Americans have gone through in our history. Hope that it is in theatres again in February.

Superlative acting...gruesome story line, yet, it is History. How any human being(s) could be treated in that manor, is mind-boggling. The slave owners and their henchman will have to pay the price for the damage inflicted upon the less fortunate, as shown in this film.
