    Frightening, Infuriating

This movie documents the fall of civilization if we do nothing. Go see it! Then begin nagging your legislators to do something.

    The 11the Hour

An excellent documentary. The films brings together experts from many scientific disciplines, and has them explain the effect of modern technology on the envoronment. They explain how we are ruining our environment, how the greenhouse effect is causing climatic changes, and how life is being degraded around the world. But it also explains how the process can be reversed and what can be done to change the situation.

It is a must see for anyone interested in the long term health of the environment.

    Amazing

    by saxnhoy

The documentary runs more like a college lecture than a film; however, I would say that we are at a point where we need to be lectured. Unfortunately, the people who most need to see the flim will not attend. What the flim did was awaken in me a desire to get involved... to help change the pattern we are on in some small way. If all of us take action now, our children and their children's children might actually have some place nice to live.

    11th Hour is an Inspiration

Yes, this film is very important, a must see for anyone who cares about the world our children are to inherit. Correction: About OUR world as well as theirs. The film, using interviews with many top notch scientists and thinkers, lays out the the present reality and potential future represented by melting ice caps the world over, and other irrefutable indicators. DiCaprio does a good job of narrating. We all left feeling inspired to take action and make a difference in changing the dangerous course our country, in particular, is on.

The time of ideologues is over

There are a few people who say don't go to this movie because it counters their ideology. These are the precise people who want to go on despoiling our planet and putting earth's population in peril. See this film and you will understand why they don't want you to see this movie. It blows the lid off the neo-con con that we can continue to pollute, trash natural habitat, and eternally foul the air with no consequences; and that finding a new way will hurt the economy. What sad little people they are.....and their day is coming to an end.

Read this if you wan't good advice!

The 11th hour was a little bias in my opinion. The whole movie shows good scientific evidence and mentions how climate change can be prevented. What they do not talk about are the negative effects for preventing Global Warming (costs/ money). The only way the movie describes for individual families to make a difference is by getting solar panels, but it costs so much. It mainly talks about congress and voters, in other words huge amounts of people, making a difference. The movie mentions a lot of the things causing Global Warming. Some of those things are mentioned in High Noon such as globalization, economy, population, climate change, and food (fisheries). Like High Noon it also says that the time to act is now and we

    Excellent, informative, to the point.

Very informative. Points a finger at the corporations for opposing the efforts to switch to green type of fuels and energy. We need more people like DiCaprio, who uses his millions for the right cause. More people need to snap out of this materialistic American nightmare, switch off the TV, and get rid of the war mongers running this country.

    Ouch!

I rate this ?Go? because I care about this. I suspect this movie will wind up mostly be preaching to the choir but even the converted need re-enforcement from time to time. But I got to say, this really needs at least a little humor while they get our blood boiling to lighten the load. This thing is about as humorous and subtle as a video of smashing puppies in a metal press and it gets pretty darn intense. I also wish they had spent more time on the solution side. It's there but it really didn't give me a lot of hope. It was Hollywood that sold the world the bull crap that all successful people drive an SUV and we are still being flooded with wrong messages from the media. Cars like the Metro, which gets 49 MPG, are still treated as a symbol of being a looser rather than a smart, responsible choice. So which way do you want it Hollywood? And what about developing countries like China and India, they are going to suddenly cooperate? Heck no, they want to be like us (before we change).

    The 11th Hour

    by KateB64

The film addresses the real issues. Not only is global warming a problem, but the real problem is American consumerism gone mad. The presentors are scientists, writers, ex-government, and lay-people. The facts are not the focus, as was the case in Al Gore's film. Leo focuses on the responsibility of each individual to educate his/herself and take action-any action. People are not attacked for not caring, but rather it is pointed out that our government currently gives more rights to corporations than to the natural world. Until we believe we are at a crucial stage in our planet's environmental health, and until we force government to change the way it does business, we will continue to destroy our planets resources that sustain human life.

The end focuses on solutions, which I was ready for about halfway through the film, but some people need to be hit over the head, I guess. Anyway, a film just as important as An Inconvenient Truth. Spread the word...
